Another great episode! Jeff, I had a look at the Logitech site and couldn't see the remote you reviewed. It wasn't until I changed the site location setting from NZ to US that more remotes became visible. I guess there's a reason why not all remotes are available for all countries, but it's beyond me?
Cheers, Phil

Wow, Phil, that's kinda strange. What difference would the country make for a remote that can download settings for almost anything? Weird.

I guess they all need some sort of approval and the approval process costs?? So the size of the market maybe makes it less beneficial to have more for sale....but I'm totally guessing at that one.
A long long time ago we'd sometimes not get all Mac models here, just Nth America. An off-the-top-of-my-head example...

And hey...we don't get the iPhone 'til next year and we only got iTMS last December !!
Posted by: Philip Roy | September 06, 2007 at 08:13 PM
Yeah, we've got no iPhone in Canada yet either. Ans still no TV/Movies in our iTMS. :-(
At least Steve has shown us (see below) that he's a reasonable guy with the $100 back to iPhone early adopters to make up for the $200 deduction in price only two months after release :-) .

One common theme I've seen in your shows is you have graffiti in your backgrounds, even the last show in front of a tree seemed to have some. I just saw a really cool video on the history of graffiti and although it focused mostly on San Fransisco, you guys might still find it interesting. It was called Piece by Piece. It has a web site at piecebypiecemovie.com.

re: $100 back.... but it's only store credit unfortunately. Better than nothing, but it looks to me like an incentive to spend more money with a new ipod :)
I would really like to see the thought process behind the decision to drop the price that much. Does Steve's crew really thing it will drive sales enough to offset the angry early adopters?

Hi Brian,
I think that you might have something going on in the ending credits. For the past two weeks, libsyn.com is missing under the libsyn logo. I thought you should know!

Mark, thanks - I love documentaries about graffiti.
Jamie - Yeah, and bloopers have been absent from the end ;)

Love commandN!
I have the .h264 version on my iTunes, but they don't play on iPhone - at least they don't show up on the "videos" under ipod.
Anyone know why?
Thanks!

Hmm - I should look before I post. I didn't notice the mpg4 version of commandN :)

Was I the only one who thought the iPhone was extremely overpriced in the first place? I thought the initial pricing was ridiculous, and that the price drop was both reasonable and expected -- not the other way around. I really feel no pity for those who spent the $500 and don't think they should be asking for some money back.
Jeff - that remote review you did was SO helpful. I expect my wife now to not call me every other day at work asking me how to switch the tv to the dvd player.
Posted by: Alex | September 11, 2007 at 09:22 AM
ALEX: Yep, the iPhone was certainly priced on the high side considering the monthly fees you have to pay on top of that. Price drop was a good thing for sure.
Glad you enjoyed the Harmony Remote segment - it is an awfully helpful thing to have around to prevent you from having to explain your A/V setup to everyone who wants to use it :-) .
