hey guys - the episode that was automatically downloaded won't play in itunes or quicktime. it is the h.264 feed. some sort of error causing it to be unreadable.
Posted by: dave | September 04, 2006 at 08:31 AM
Same problems as Dave noted. The file that came in my iTunes feed was borked, so I tried the iPod and Quicktime versions from here and they do not register as a video file in iTunes.

I manually downloaded the h264 version from the web page at 11:30 EDT and it plays fine up to the end of Jeff's segment and then it freezes. I let it sit for a while and then QT blew up with a buffer overflow error.
I'm using QuickTime 7.1 on Windows XP SP 2.

Uploading the H264 file again. Looks like my connection was cut when I first uploaded it.

I look forward to muzikDEN! My favorite genres are trance, 80s synthpop, ambient/space music, and classical. I like Björk, Sarah McLachlan, Paul van Dyk, Glenn Gould, Hüsker Dü, Bob Mould, and Barenaked Ladies.
My tastes are wide-ranging and I have amassed quite a large collection. Actually having lived in a lot of countries helped me acquire my interest, but the Internet and having worked in a record store helped most in amassing my collection. That's how I came to own a copy of the EMI re-release of "The Rankin Family" in 1992.
I used to subscribe to a lot of the publications of the National Library of Canada (before it changed names). Oddly enough, I've never step foot in Canada, well, except for embassies.

Great stuff, Christopher, and quite an eclectic collection you have (just like me)! We look forward to having you as a viewer. :-)

Thanks Brian. That fixed it.

Nice work as always. Look forward to the launch of muzikDEN. Didn't know you were so "street" Amber, but thanks to the post credits...the truth is out.
Posted by: Jim | September 04, 2006 at 12:01 PM
I thought Jeff was the one being 'street' when I was watching the first file that was posted. I must have had my eyes off the screen for a second as I didn't see the video stall but I did hear "So spread the word, Y'all" ;)
The muzikden stuff looks great, very professionally shot etc. I presume 'one a month' is going to help with the quality of it.
Mike was on top form this week too.
Music: Anything good.
At the moment: Amplifico & Thea Gilmore. Generally I'm a Nine Inch Nails, Senser, Accident Hash, Chemical Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, KLF, Pink Floyd, Massive Attack, Mashuptown, PIL, Peter Gabriel, Fat Boy Slim, Gorillaz, Coverville, Faithless, Jeff Buckley, Roxy Music, Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Diamond, ABBA, Thomas Newman, Zbigniew Priesner and Strauss kind of guy ;)
Posted by: Nate | September 04, 2006 at 01:50 PM
Music I enjoy: jazz (real, not "smooth"), blues, down-tempo electronica (like http://www.waveformhq.com/catalog.html), classical.

First, I'll take 3 CommandN stickers, please. 1 for my laptop, 1 for my work pc and 1 for my truck. By the way... any chance of coming up with some CommandN Swag?
Favorite music, um... I guess Country, Christian Rock, Alternative, Pop... anything with a good beat and in good taste.
Mike, keep the nicknames coming!
You mentioned project management software... What about ActiveCollab? How about reviewing and comparing CampFire and ActiveCollab?

I hate to start out with a complaint, so let me say "Great Show". This video podcast is one of the reasons I bought a 5g iPod.
That said, the version of #60 that iTunes is sending out seems a bit off. Its only about 15min long, won't play in iTunes, and worst of all..won't download to my iPod.

I found a great app for the mac called Headdress. Headdress is a simple application that aids in helping get the most out of mac web sharing. You don't have to dig through configuration files, and turning PHP on is a breeze with one click activation.
Just wanted to let you all know about this neat product.
their website is at http://headdress.twinsparc.com/

Is there something also wrong with the xvid direct download? All I get is audio of "and this week" then it cuts out. Love the show download it every week helped by reminderfox extension in firefox to remind me when next episode is due. :)

I used to work for Radio Shack myself. I'm not surprised by this story, as that is how my career ended there. They don't care, you're just another number. At any rate, it worked out better for me.
Good work again guys!
