Hey Web Designers,
commandN is looking to build a new website for the show, etc., and we need your help. We plan to keep our TypePad page much as it is (essentially functioning as a blog and area for public interaction/comments), but we really want to be able to provide some additional info for our fans and gain some flexibility on how/what we present online. Because of this, we are looking for a talented web developer(s) who can donate some time to help us make this happen.
Our goal is to have an extensible website that reflects the level of professionalism and effort we put into the commandN show and, given that we don’t have a lot of in-house graphic design experience (though we can certainly provide logos and other materials, and lots of support), we need someone to help us make this new site a reality. As mentioned above, this would be a volunteer effort, but you/your company will get a great deal of exposure from your name being displayed/linked on the new website and we will also make sure to shout out to you/your company on the show.
Anyone interested in helping us with this, please send an email to Jeff (jeff{INSERTAT}commandn.tv) with your name, a couple of references to/examples of webpages you’ve designed, and (optionally) any ideas you might have for the new commandN website.
Thanks in advance from all of us at commandN (and from all the fans, too, as we want them to have the best online experience possible)!
I can't wait for the new site design, maybe coordinate the colors with the new graphics in the show.
I'm taking some web design classes right now so if you need any help I'll be glad do my best.

Well I think that with going along with your statement about creating a professional site you's need to really drop typepad. From reading a posting on your site to the Top 10 Blog Hacks I've gotten ride of my Blogspot.com site and more to my own domain name. So you guys should really use that commandn.tv as your offical site.

Typepad is weak pad. Wordpress is where it's at (kind of like BECK). More open source, more flexiblity. If you need a wordpress guru or at least guru wanna-be give me a shout.
P.S. It's hard to get a professional looking site out of spec work. Just a thought. Don't worry I ain't mad atcha but I know some design snobs out there that would be. Just givin you a heads up.

Good luck with this new website, it'll be great if you end up incorporating the new commandn graphics in the new layout.
As for using typepad, it really wouldn't matter what you're using (wordpress, mt, texpattern, whatever) - if you get a designer that's good with css and xhtml it'll be off the chain no matter what.
I design a bit, and code a lot more but I'm pretty sure you'll find a more capable webdesigner that has experience with typepad (which would be an extra plus).
Or you could check out my sister's site for (girly) design ideas: http://www.aunexamor.net/
She's dangerous with photoshop.

I'd say build a WordPress based site... it is much easier to upkeep and maintain than the MT offerings. There are tons of themes, K2 from BinaryBonsai.com being the best supported and most popular. If you plan on going WordPress, I can definitely help you guys out.

While wordpress is nice I've found website baker to be better for my needs in developing customer websites that are easily updatable and custom friendly.
