CONTEST
Email us (please write "Sweet 16 Contest" in the subject line) your favourite free web-based application for a chance to win one of five copies of Seagull 3. (Contest ends 12 noon, Friday, October 7th, 2005)
Great show as usual Amber [which by the way you looked very nice in that dress] & Crew! [Mikey in a tie...ahhhh]. For the contest, do the 'web-based applications' have to work through a browser...or be downloadable from the web?

Awesome sweet 16th episode! Great job everyone and as always cool web picks.
Quick question: What's up with "Unrendered"? Easter Egg or Final Cut bug? I see it flash before screen caps. Took it into vegas and noticed it in front of a blue/black gradient.
Awesome seeing everyones school photos, and thanks for the mention Mikey! I mean Joey!

Great job guys! Is that really Jeff on the closing scene? Keep up the good work! More power!

Yes, that's really Jeff!
As for posting last night, we usually get it out a little early (which is great).
As for the bug, we'll check that out...hmm...
Thx for your comments ;-).

Awesome show guys and gal. (there's only Amber right?) I would just like to point out that you're shows continually keep my from my school work :-p Every show takes me like 2 hours to watch cause I always pause and check out the site you are talking about, great stuff. 90% of the stuff you talk about i've never heard of before which is just extremely exciting. And thanks a million to Jeff for that virtual KVM bit, technology never fails to amaze me. :)
p.s. Tell Jobs to cut that mouse button in half and I'll buy a PowerBook :-)

Another great episode, would it be possible to change the link for the Bittorrent so the torrent can be downloaded via wget? Its failing with the current links.
Thanks,
Colin

Cool episode. Don't really get the whole "sweet 16" thing. Oh well, must be a North American thing.
What's with Jeff's display resolution. Looks really low to me.

Congrats on turning 16! I hope everyone had a great birthday! I'm so glad that CommandN can now legally drive in the states. Sidewalks everywhere are no longer safe!
Keep up the great work! =)

Excellent show. Can I recomend something? Your clickthrough link on your feed points to the url of the video file. Now in my aggregator I already have the video file, so I want to be directed to the actual web post url [ie:http://commandn.typepad.com/commandn/2005/09/h264httpfilesmi.html].
Keep up the good work.

Just started to whatch the show and I am enjoying it, keep up the good work!
Posted by: Marcel | September 27, 2005 at 05:42 PM
btw, what kind of camera do you use?
Posted by: Marcel | September 27, 2005 at 05:43 PM
Thanks for the comments everyone!
I checked my files that I have with me and it looks like even though the show was rendered when it exported it left a few transitions unrendered. Only thing I can think is that I was using an external drive to render to and it got disconnected just before I exported (will check into this theory later as no messages came up when I connected the drive again). The files will be replaced when I get back from California.
The camera we currently use is a Sony PD-150 DVCAM. We may be upgrading to HD in the near future though.

Whoa - Brian is commenting from his wedding trip in Cali! That's awesome ;-).
Thx for all your feedback and best wishes. Keep it coming.

Great episode. Didn't know about the virtual KVM software. Am using Synergy now, and it works great ;)
Posted by: Jazza | September 28, 2005 at 03:00 AM
Why HD? HD on the web with compression is still so much bandwidth. It seems pointless to me to use HD for a production that's mainly used online.
Unless, of course, CommandN is soon to be shown elsewhere.
Which HD cam where you thinking of? HVX? FX? the new canon?

your download link don't work please fix it.

You forgot to add a link for the Synergy virtual KVM to the blog entry. It is http://synergy2.sourceforge.net
