Interesting show as usual. I didn't understand what set the Verbatum card reader apart from the many other USB 2.0 card readers.
Posted by: Ed | September 19, 2007 at 08:53 PM
Hi Ed,
Nothing really set it apart, as I haven't tried many others. :-)
The review was more to point out the great utility of these devices in general than a really stringent assessment of this model vs. others.
If you have some USB 2.0 card readers that you think are exceptional then certainly post them here.
Thanks,
Jeff

Yes, it's a little on the dark side...we're going for a haunting look ;).

Bloody marvellous! Yet another social networking site, this time from Yahoo. Methinks the buggers at Yahoo are getting desperate. I can only vomit into my bib at the news...
What I'd like to know is, when is someone gonna come up with a site for us antisocial types, you know, those of us who don't want 15 seconds of fame, let alone 15 bloody minutes. I've seen the pitiful dingbats who frequent these sites and all I can say is, put 'em out of their misery!
For gawd's sake give me a site where I can enjoy my privacy; a site where I don't have to look at a bunch of desperate morons being moronic.

Oh, I know this is not the place for it, Amber, but I want you to know you have dropped to below zero in my estimation for giving oxygen to the likes of Dylan Avery in your Webnation program.
Perhaps you over-reached...

I know I tried to maintain more than one social networking site for a short while and it was just waaaaaay too much.
I just don't have time for the chit-chat aspect of it and it's too hard to be checking into various sites to keep track of things.
While I kinda need some presence on some social networking site (and I have hooked up with some old friends that I haven't heard from in years), I think I've drawn the line at one and only one :-) .

Thanks for the story about the nefarious mediadefender. Which I think is an important news event. I wouldn't have heard about it at all. (Don't spend my free time on digg or ars technica. :-()
Cute dog Will. Good name too.
Someone I know named their dog, Pixel. A guy. A straight guy. Although an architect. That might explain it.

Pixel! Love it!

Yeah, I met a dog named Pixel the weekend before I got Beta. The owner was a graphic designer. It was a great name :)

THINGS I HATE: Trying to find a specific reference on a website. ie - Will's reference to "7 stupid things...". THINGS I LIKE: Finding a show note link that takes me right to the specific reference. :)

CARD READER BUMMERS: Seems to me the more cards a reader will handle, the more drive letters it takes up. Ergo, I stick with the single card reader I need.
