EPISODE #27 (December 19th, 2005)

Thank you to all of our viewers, sponsors, and supporters for an amazing 2005! Check out our special holiday episode below, which we shot this past Sunday while enjoying an early Christmas dinner with the commandN team, Jeff's wife Robin, and Brian's wife Barb. Big thanks to both Robin and Barb for cooking up some delicious recipes for us - and the show!

We'll be taking Christmas and New Year's week off, but expect a bright and shiny Episode #28 the week of Jan. 9th (gives us a two-week break to spend time with our families) and we look forward to many more great shows in 2006. From all of us at commandN, Happy Holidays!

PS: Don't forget to check out the bloopers at the end of the show (after the credits), and special thanks to Yoshi for getting us the cool, red, snowflake-laden intro!

Hello CommandN team,

I would just like to thank you for creating a fantastic vidcast. I wish you all a merry christmas and a happy and safe new year,
From

Awesome episode as usual Amber & Crew.

Jeff, you really improved this week, you seemed to be more loosened up, at least when you weren't reading a story. But otherwise, you are slowly improving.

One question, I don't know if I missed an episode with them earlier or not, but who were Barb and Robin? I know Robin is somehow related to Jeff & Amber. Just curious.

Happy Holidays commandN and see you in 2006!

Cranberry murderer!

Way to end the year, cant wait to see you all in 06! CommandN is the best!

D

Amber, I totally agree on the Nokia phone thing. When I saw the 8800 I was like, this thing is (almost) perfect but then I saw the keypad and it's just as horrible as in all the Nokia phones so they've still yet to create the perfect one, but as far as the cool metal and the opening mechanism goes, super fly! :D ... but it's insanely expensive for something that's not that perfect. Let's hope they'll come up with a good one next year.

Happy and restful holidays to the whole commandN team! Your hard work and dedication is muchly appreciated!

It's been a fantastic 27 episodes and great year so a huge thank you for that!

Paul,

Robin is Jeff's wife and Barb is my wife.

Both of them are amazing cooks and we thought it would be fun to have them do something non-tech to make it a real "Holiday Special".

Hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday.

-Brian

Thx for the great year!

I really think you guys need to get a studio soon! That would minimize the sound and audio quality issues. You could still do the occasional shoot outside but then you won't have to go around begging for a place to shoot.

Take Care
Shannon

Great episode, as always. I'm really going to miss the show...I can't wait until 2006!! Anyways, have a Happy Holidays and an awesome New Year!

Great ep! See ya next year!

The food and drink segment was a delightful surprise! I'm going to try both recipes. Tech fuel!

Let us know when you have the Nokia 6680 video tutorial up and running! Thx!

Hi, Thank to Mike for talking about Ubuntu. I'm using it right now. It's may main OS. I was wondering if your going to talk more about Open Source Software? Love the show. And hope you have more things on the linux side. No push. Just asking.

Hi, bad picks from Mike this week. Where can you find Feeddemon 2.0? Their site says nothing about that at all and only links to download of the old 1.5 so where did you found out about 2.0 and whats new?

Same thing with Gaim. 2.0 is not realeased it's just an early beta version and it's still kind of buggy.

Robert,

In the new year I plan to do a segment on video editing using Open Source software.

Cannot guarantee when I will have this done but it should be early in the year.

-Brian

dnx,

You can get the GAIM 2.0 beta here.

Feeddemon 2.0 is currently in Alpha format and not readily available. Sorry we did not mention this in the show. Here is more
information on it.

Mike may have more insider info then I so watch this space.

-Brian

Thx for the update Brian! :)

Hey guys-

Just wanted to wish you all a happy holidays. Keep up the great work with the best (in my opinion) IPtv show out there!

-m

Another great episode! Hope everyone had a great holiday and new year. Be merry and be safe :)

dnx,
In the future I will be sure to point out if programs that are in beta.

Feeddemon 2.0 beta will be out in early January however the 1.6 beta uses the new rendering engine that will used in 2.0.

Be sure to check out nick's blog for more info http://nick.typepad.com/blog/2005/12/silence_new_fee.html

Konnichiwa!

A very homely intimate episode. It's really nice to watch a show like this. It feels more real than the majority of slickly produced network shows. The show has soul!

Thanks for all the useful info and especially the brea/mango thing with the choco egg nog thing. A nice break from the sushi and sake diet I'm on. ;P

All the best for the new year. Yoi otoshiyo!

Glad you enjoyed it - and sorry for breaking your sushi and sake diet, but it's worth it! :)

-Amber

I want to give kudos to Mike for mentioning Ubuntu. It's not just a great Linux but a great OS. For my first foray into Linux it's been surprisingly easy so far. I just love it.
